    Dear Year 6 Parents/Guardians

It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that we are unable to put on the leavers' performance that we had intended in July. We had planned to start rehearsing together after the 21st of June and put on our performance at the end of year to our pupils' friends and family. Sadly, the continuation of restrictions means that we cannot regularly put the children from different bubbles together to rehearse, we can't sing the songs in the play, and we can't perform it in front of an audience at the end. All of which means it is a practical impossibility. We are very sorry for those pupils who have started to learn their lines, but this decision is out of our hands.

However, we would like to reassure you that we will do our best to give our Year 6 children the very best end we can to their time with us. We will have to obviously act within the guidelines, but we would like to organise some special outside events for the end of the year.  We will let you know as soon as we have more details but be assured, we want to make it as special and memorable for the children as we can after these tumultuous two years.

    Thank you

  • Religious Education Volunteers

    Published 12/06/21

As part of our Religious Education (RE) curriculum, we study many religions which include: Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, Hinduism, Sikhism and Christianity.

At Danesholme Junior Academy, we would like to offer our children first-hand experiences, which would also involve our wider community.

For this to happen, we are asking for volunteers who would be willing to come into school and share their religious experiences with the children who are studying that particular religion.

We would like this to start in September, but obviously we will have to act in accordance with the Government guidance and their advice about visitors in school during the pandemic.

If you are available to share your religious experiences, please contact the school office via telephone (01536 741 657) or email ( and leave your name and contact details.

    Thank you in advance.
